Matt Fisher
Father of three. Born in New Jersey, raised in Atlanta. Matt builds every Kaptive piece by hand — spraying, stenciling, patching and drawing one garment at a time — so each one leaves his hands as the only one of its kind.
“They spent years telling me who to be. Now everything I make says exactly who I am — once.”— Matt Fisher
The story
Matt Fisher was born in New Jersey and raised in Atlanta — two places that taught him your style speaks before you do. That voice got taken from him when he went to prison. Same uniform as everybody else. A number where his name should be.
So he started drawing. Crosses, stars, skulls and lettering filled the margins of every letter he sent home. The name came from that time — Kaptive — a reminder of where it started, spelled his own way.
Home with his three kids, he turned those sketches into clothes. Kaptive is his passion and his self-expression, and it's why every piece is a 1 of 1: after years of everyone dressing the same, Matt makes sure nobody wearing Kaptive ever looks like anyone else.
One of one
No restocks, no runs. When a piece sells, it's gone for good.
Made by hand
Sprayed, stenciled, patched and drawn by hand — so no two ever come out the same.
Worn by the family
From the barbershop to Times Square to the little ones — Kaptive is for everybody who's in it.
